Pack smart when you travel

Packing for a vacation and find that you have too many clothes to carry? That often happens when you try to pack clothes for every possible situation. You can streamline your wardrobe so that you choose a few key pieces of clothing that will make you look fashionable and feel comfortable at the same time.

When you’re travelling comfort is of high essence. But at the same time you don’t want your clothes to be all crinkled up. So when you’re packing make sure you include stuff that stretches. These will be more comfortable and will remain relatively wrinkle free.

Take on sarong or wrap around along when you’re going. These can turn out to be quite handy. They can be used when you’re at the pool, or at the beach or even at a dinner.

Take at least two pairs of sweaters if you’re going somewhere it rains or tends to get cold. You could carry along v-neck sweaters as they look appropriate whether the occasion is formal or casual.

When you’re packing don’t neglect your footwear. This is essential because shopping for the right kind of footwear is not the easiest task. Be sure to include a pair of casual sandals or sneakers for the day time and also one pair of formal footwear in case you attend a formal dinner party or some such event.

Take one hat along with yourself if you’re going on a summer vacation. You can look fashionable as well as protect yourself from the sun. Be sure to take one and avoid getting sun burnt.

One more very important thing when you’re travelling is to not travel too light. You shouldn’t run out of clothes on the trip and be forced to buy something there. Carry enough so that you have a few extra sets.

5 footwear must haves for women

Footwear speaks volumes about what kind of person you are, your sense of dressing and your personality. A spunky, vivacious person wears brightly colored shoes while a more conservative person wear regular sneakers or flat shoes. Here is a guide to the essential pairs of footwear one must own:

Converse sneakers: Converse is classic, goes with everything and will never go out of fashion. They come with all sorts of designs and in all colors but a black hi top is a must. It is great if you have a red one or a white pair. Rock stars wear them, your class chemistry geek wears them, they’re just so cool.

Black heels: Black heels are to footwear what the little black dress is to clothes. Elusive yet so necessary. Every woman should absolutely own a pair of black strappy heels. They go with sexy dresses and even with a pant suit to give you a businesslike but yet very feminine look. Even if you have to spend a little extra for them it’s well worth it. They’re classic and you can always buy one less pair of any other kind of footwear you plan to.

make your legs cool

I’m a bit sick of clothes and the like so today’s topic are leg warmers. Yes, those tube shaped things that you see girls these days wearing around their legs. They are just called leg warmers. They do not actually perform that function.

Traditionally leg warmers used to be made of wool in an attempt to provide some sort of warmth to the wearer. Now however they are made from a mixture of cotton and other synthetic fibres so naturally do not provide any warmth. So now you know that they are just work because they are fashionable and became so because of films like Fame and Flashdance in the early 80s. They went out of fashion towards the end of the decade but have made a comeback around 2004. They were worn by dancers and during aerobics but now are multi purpose.

Since we have the functional part out of the way now we can talk about how cool legwarmers are. Leg warmers come in all colours and with all sorts of designs and can be worn with almost anything. They are mostly worn over tights or leggings or with a short skirt. They are also worn with almost any kind of footwear although mostly with open and canvas shoes.

You have regular leg warmers like the once above which you could wear with a skirt of leggings or even jeans. They are bright and really funk up your outfit.

Leg warmers can also be worn with heels to bring off a classier more formal look.

Then there are also interesting creations like these ones. These fuzzy ones probably do keep you a little warm. Only danger is you don’t want the PETA people to notice you.

These ones won’t make you feel warm but they’ll definitely raise the temperature all right. I’m not sure about the image you’ll be stuck with afterwards though.

being a hot mommy

Everyone likes dressing up and people have their own unique styles of dressing. During maternity however fashion takes a bit of a backseat. This week we have a few secrets on how to go shop and dress during those months.

First think before buying too many maternity clothes. They are expensive and you will only wear them for a few months. Borrow from people you know or buy them from sales. Or else raid your mom’s cupboard or your partner’s. There’s definitely something there that would fit you.

During the first few months of your pregnancy don’t go overboard and buy clothes. Try buying a few transitional pieces. Buy trousers a couple of sizes bigger and loose tops. You could also try buying at plus size stores.

Don’t be afraid to show off your clothes. For any woman, no matter what her size form fitting is always more flattering than baggy clothes.

Don’t be afraid to show a little skin either. Do not go overboard though. A little show of skin however, is always flattering.

When you’re pregnant you could try to dress in one single colour. This does not mean wearing accessories of the same color and going overboard. Covering your entire body in one color makes you look slimmer and more together.

During pregnancy a woman’s body retains water and joints become looser so the foot sizes of most women increase. During pregnancy it’s safer to wear open shoes and sandals so you remain more comfortable.

It’s also very important to accessorize. Accessories make the most drab of outfits come alive. You can accessorize a basic piece of clothing like a black dress with thing such as funky shoes, a bright piece of jewellery such as turquoise etc.

Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to look boring. You can still be as sexy as usual.

Tis’ the season to be RED

The color this season is red. A bright tomato red, a more subtle cherry red or a darker wine red. All the big fashion houses this winter have come out with clothing in different shades of red. This color is however a must have only for women. Men however, have been advised to avoid the color as there are very few men who can actually carry off the color.

Red is an extremely sexy color and makes you look very feminine and yet not too girly like pink. Red is also suitable to almost all occasions including formal occasions, work, partying or even a day out. Also red is something that looks good in almost all types of clothing. The following red clothing items are rated very high on the fashion meters right now:

Red Dress: The knee length or slightly below knee length dress in material that clings to your body is very in right now and is extremely flattering. It is also extremely classy and can be worn anywhere.

Red Wrap Shirt: Extremely fashionable right now and along with leggings of a light color and a top worn inside, it can also double up as office wear.

Red Jacket: A red jacket on the shorter side (long jackets are so last season) can be teamed up with almost anything and will make you look very sexy this holiday season. Different collars, double breasted and button styles can be varied. Big brass button also look rather fetching.

Red Converse: And to end are my all time favourites. Chuck Taylor Converse. This is the perfect time to get yourself the red ankle length converse to be totally in style.

So stock up on red and make sure you look special this holiday season. But remember as always the key is not to overdo it.
